Year 8 Humanities folio artworks

Year 8 have had a busy year in humanities so far. As part of their studies into an Asian culture, Meadow Fair’s year 8 Humanities students created a series of artworks that demonstrate the sheer talent present at Sirius College. The teachers of Humanities at Sirius College attempt to assess students understanding of content through a wide range of traditional and untraditional methods and this are folio is a perfect example. Students were asked to demonstrate their understanding of Japanese art and culture by creating works related to the classical period of Japan. The students created works ranging for natural landscapes to origami and a wooden samurai sword.

I am sure you would agree that this work is truly amazing. The works are on display in Mr Barrie’s P9 classroom with the names of their proud creators on them. Parents of Sirius College are encouraged to support their children’s learning buy keeping a close eye on their homework and study and helping out where possible. I would like to give a big thank you to all the parents of year 8 who put time and effort into helping their sons gather supplies and create these spectacular works. Education is a team effort and when we work together amazing things can happen.
